He settled down on the Beast as his rope man focused on the task of tightening the rope around its haunches. He could hear the roar of the crowd, the flashes as they clicked picture after picture.
He nodded his head and the gait swung open and the Beast went on its dance. Together, they were one. The sounds of the crowd thundered in his ears as he hung on for Dear Life. One, then two, then before he realized it, Eight Seconds had passed and he heard the sound of the buzzer as it rang gloriously in his triumphant ears. He jumped to the arena floor and took a bow to the crowd that now was applauding and screaming HIS name.
He looked over, Took Off his Hat and Blew a Kiss to His Momma.
He was so mesmerized by the attention that he forgot. The young man who had just rode the Beast.
The Beast that he rode for Eight Seconds was his Daddy’s Goat and it was now after him! He was only Five, but, rode like a Big Man!
